National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology of the Republic of Moldova

The National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI – www.anrceti.md) has placed on its Internet page, for public consultations, the draft Administrative Board Decision on measures meant to ensure the protection of users of public electronic communications services. The consultation will last for 25 calendar days. Recommendations on the document are welcome till the deadline – April 26, 2010.

The Administrative Board of the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI - www.anrceti.md) approved two decisions, which identified two relevant markets: the market wholesale access to network infrastructure at a fixed location and the market of wholesale broadband access. The decisions were published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Moldova on March 26. The identified markets are the first of the list of 10 markets defined by the Agency to be analyzed in order to identify the markets susceptible to ex-ante regulation.

On March 22-26, a team of experts from the consulting company Great Village International Consultants (GVIC) from Canada will arrive in Chisinau to continue the technical assistance project, financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), provided to the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI – www.anrceti.md).

The National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI – www.anrceti.md) requests electronic communications network providers to take note and fill in a questionnaire on optic fiber identification technologies, sent to ANRCETI by the Telecommunications Standardization Bureau (TSB) of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU). The filled-in questionnaires are expected at the Agency before March 29, 2010.
