Representatives of the National regulatory agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) are taking part in a two-day policy workshop for government official, regulators and business leaders in Yerevan, Armenia (April 22 - 23).

In 2012, for the second time in a row, the market for internet access at fixed and mobile locations has been top second among the most dynamic electronic communications markets, currently being one of the main drivers of information society building in Moldova. This is a message conveyed by Sergiu Sitnic, ANRCETI Director, in a press conference Monday, April 15th, when ANRCETI Report (in translation process) on Electronic Communications Markets Evolution in 2012 was presented.

Providers of public mobile services and networks are placed under the obligation to ensure, jointly with the Centralized Data Base (CDB) Administrator, the technical launch of number portability in mobile networks as of May 1, 2013 and commercial launch – as of July 1, 2013. This is a provision of an ANRCETI Administrative Board Decision (doc. in state language), through which a previous Board Decision was modified – no. 41 (doc. in state language) of 11.10.2012, on approving the Action Plan for number portability implementation in the Republic of Moldova.

ANRCETI Administrative Board is announcing public session to approve the Terms of Reference and the Announcement (docs in state language) for 2500-2520/2620-2640 MHz sub bands license auction to be used for the provision of public electronic communications broadband radio access networks/services, to take place Thursday, April 11, 14.00, ANRCETI Office (134 Stefan cel Mare bd., 5th floor, conference Room).

ANRCETI published on its Website the Schedule (doc. in state language) of Planned Control actions for qtr II of 2013, regarding the persons entitled with the right to perform in electronic communications and information technology. The document was approved today, by a decision of ANRCETI director pursuant to Law on State Control on Entrepreneurial Activity no.131 of 08.06.2012, in force since March 1, 2013.

Today, March 21, ANRCETI Director, Sergiu Sitnic, was elected chairman of the EaP Electronic Communications Regulators’ Network. The Director of the Communications Regulatory Authority of Lithuania (RRT), Feliksas Dobrovolskis was elected as Deputy Chairman. The elections took place within the first Plenary Meeting of the EaP Regulators Network, going on in Kiev, Ukraine, on March 21 - 22.

On February 19 – 24, a group of specialists of the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI), at the invitation of Estonian colleagues, made a study visit to Tallinn, within the framework of the Estonian Development Cooperation project, financed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia. The other participants from the Republic of Moldova, involved in this project, are the specialists of the Competition Council and National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE).

The National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) issued to JSC "Orange Moldova", at their request, a license for the use of radio frequencies/channels in 900 MHz and 1800 MHz bands for the provision of public electronic communications cell mobile GSM networks and services, for a period of 20 months (07/3/2013 - 05/11/2014). The license was handed in today, February 28, to the Director General of the company, Ludmila Climoc, by ANRCETI Director, Sergiu Sitnic.

With the launch of number portability, all mobile and fixed users will be able to benefit from portability services within five business days from the date they send a request to the provider in whose network they wish to have their numbers ported. This is a provision of the Technical and Commercial Conditions for number portability implementation in the Republic of Moldova, approved yesterday, February 26, in a public session, by ANRCETI Administrative Board. Council judgment (No. 8, 02/26/2013) entered into force on its approval. The Board Decision (no.8 of 26.02.2013 - doc. in state language) entered in force on the date it was adopted.
