The document, published the website of the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) shows that, in the third quarter of 2013, total revenues from electronic communications services (mobile telephony, mobile broadband, fixed telephony, fixed Internet and data transmission, audiovisual broadcasting and retransmission) slightly decreased, by 0.63% (10.7 million lei), compared with the same period of 2012, and equaled 1 billion 668.6 million lei.

The statistical data on the use of mobile broadband in nine months of 2013, published by the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) show that users in Moldova continue to prefer mobile broadband (via USB modems and data cards). During this period, the number of subscribers to mobile broadband, compared to the end of 2012, increased 54.8 thousand (+30.7%) and constituted 233.3 thousand, while the number of fixed Internet – by 32.2 thousand (+7.7%), reaching 449.4 thousand.

In nine months of this year, the number of mobile users increased by 5.3% over the end of 2012, and amounted to about 4.3 million, while the voice traffic on mobile networks increased by 10% over the same period of last year and reached 7.5 billion minutes. These are data from the statistics about mobile services, published today by the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI). During the timeframe, a mobile user spoke on a mobile phone for 3 hours and 16 minutes and sent 15 SMS, on average per month.

The Administrative Board of the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) approved, in public session on November 28, the decisions on identification of the markets for wholesale provision of terminal leased line segments (Market 6 - doc. in state language) and trunk leased lines segments (Market 8 - doc. in state language), regardless of the technology used for the provision of leased or dedicated capacity, and designation of JSC "Moldtelecom" as a provider with significant market power on these markets. The Board Decisions entered in force on the date of approval and will be published in the Official Gazette.

Statistical data about the evolution of the fixed telephony market, published by the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI), show that the traffic in fixed networks and the revenues from sales of fixed telephone services continued to decline during January-September 2013. Thus, compared to the nine months of 2012, the traffic decreased by 11,5% and totaled 3,3 billion minutes, while the revenues fell by 15,6% and totaled about 988,6 million lei.

Practices of universal service implementation and the obligations of operators designated for the provision of this service is the subject matter of a three-day workshop that has started today in Chisinau. It is organized by the Network of Electronic Communications Regulators of the Eastern Partnership (EaP) countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine) and PricewaterhouseCoopers Slovensko company, with the support of the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI).

At the invitation of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), on November 19-22, the Director of National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI), Grigore Varanita, is taking part in the worldwide forum - ITU Telecom World 2013 in Bangkok, organized by the ITU, with the support of the Ministry of industry and the telecommunications regulatory authority in Thailand.

The National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) announces that the special ex-ante obligations imposed in 2012 to JSC "Moldtelecom" in connection with significant market power on market 1 (access of end-users, natural and legal persons to the public fixed telephone network at a fixed location) are maintained.

Today, The National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) published draft (doc. in state language) Administrative Board Decision on approving the Program of Regulatory documents to be issued in 2014 on its Web page, for public consultations. The consultations will last through November 25, 2013, this being the deadline for recommendations relevant for this document.

The Auction Commission for auctioning of two licenses for the use of radio frequencies/channels of 1900-1980/2110-2170 MHz, 1900-1920 MHz and 2010-2025 MHz bands for the provision of 3G cell mobile public electronic communications networks and services declared its result as null and void, for the reason that not a single application had been received before the deadline (November 1, 2013).
