The National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) assigned the short national number 116111, children helpline, to JSC „Moldtelecom”, upon the company’s request. The number was assigned for the timeframe June 1, 2014 – December 31, 2016 and the service will be launched on June 1, 2016. This number is the first of the three short national numbers of social value harmonized across EU (116000, 116111 and 116123), which ANRCETI previously made available for assignment.

The National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) published today, on its official website www.anrceti.md, information on quality parameters (page in state language) for electronic communications services, measured by providers in the first quarter of 2014. This information was submitted to ANRCETI by the 101 active electronic communications service providers, of which 22 also made these data available on their Web pages.

The National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) issued a notification for mobile providers, recommending that measures need to be taken to protect users against attempts to be cheated by swindlers via mobile phone. The recommendation came after the regulator found, according to the information offered by providers, that in April and May there was a significant increase in the number of complaints from users claiming that they were cheated and deprived of money or minutes from their mobile accounts, after they responded to requests to call unknown international numbers, received by SMS from unknown individuals.

On May 20 to 23, a team of specialists from the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI), headed by its Director, Grigore Varanita, took part in the Regional Forum for CIS and Europe on shared use of infrastructure as a tool to promote broadband network development, held in Chisinau. The forum was organized by the Telecommunication Development Bureau of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), jointly with the Ministry of Information Technology and Communications (MTIC) of Moldova.

On Friday, April 4, 2014, providers of pay TV services, data transmission and Internet access from Balti municipality and from nine other districts from the north of the country discussed the aspects of their obligations in relation to service users, at a workshop, conducted in Balti by the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI). This is the first seminar organized by ANRCETI as part of the information campaign "Know your rights as a consumer of electronic communications services", launched in February this year.

The Ministry of Information Technology and Communications (MTIC) and the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) warns the public that the use of wireless handsets that are uncertified and non-compliant with the requirements of applicable technical regulations is prohibited and punishable under the Code Contraventions no. 218-XVI of 24.10.2008. The use of these devices affects the normal operation of public mobile networks and the quality of mobile services.

In the timeframe March 24 - 28, 2014, a group of specialists from the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) are taking part, under TAIEX assistance, in a seminar on monitoring the compliance of providers with the electronic communications regulatory framework and harmonization of certain regulatory aspects with the EU requirements. The TAIEX Mission is funded by the European Commission and conducted by two experts from the regulator of Slovenia – Agency for Communications Networks and Services of the Republic of Slovenia (ACOS).

The document was signed yesterday, March 12, in Chisinau, by Director of ANRCETI Grigore Varanita and Chairman of CRC Veselin Bozhkov.
