The Administrative Board of the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Society (ANRCETI) assesses work of its subdivisions in 2013 as satisfactory and believes they need to make the utmost of the existing potential to enhance the quality and effectiveness of the regulatory measures planned for 2014. This is the conclusion made by the ANRCETI Director Grigore Varanita at a meeting summarizing ANRCETI performance in 2013, Monday, January 20.

Over 77% of the violations found by the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) during the inspections of the activity of electronic communications network/service providers in 2013 relate to the end-users legitimate interests, shows an ANRCETI report regarding its monitoring and control activity last year.

During 2013, the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) entered 59 entrepreneurs into the Public Register of electronic communications network and service providers, who obtained, based on general authorization regime, the right to operate in this sector. The number of registered entrepreneurs increased over 2012 by 2,6% and reached 512 on 31.12.2013.

After mobile number portability was launched on July 1, 2013, in the timeframe July – December 2013, an average of over 4400 numbers were ported monthly, while after the implementation of this service in fixed networks on August 1 2013, in the timeframe August – December 2013, an average of 540 numbers were ported monthly, shows a Report of the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) about the development of the number portability service in 2013.

The electronic page contains information on quality parameters measured by providers in quarter III of the current year.

The National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) will issue, in 2014, a number of regulatory acts aimed at promoting competition in the electronic communications sector and strengthening the protection of end users rights. The subjects of the regulatory acts and the terms for their approval are set up in Administrative Board Decision (doc. in state language) on approval of the Program for Regulatory Acts Elaboration for 2014, adopted last week in a public Administrative Board session.

After the launch of 4G broadband wireless public electronic communications services (also called LTE services - Long Term Evolution) in November 2012, now they are available in Chisinau, Balti, nine cities and in other 22 towns of Moldova, shows a report of the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) on license holders’ compliance with special license conditions for 4G network/service provision - JSC "Orange Moldova" and JSC "Moldcell".

The Administrative Board of the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) approved a new version of the Regulations (doc. in state language) on Dispute Resolution Procedure in Electronic Communications, which aims at simplifying and adjusting the extrajudicial dispute examination procedure by ANRCETI to the legal framework. Regulation was registered by the Ministry of Justice and took effect on Friday, December 13, 2013, being published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Moldova.
