In the first quarter of 2015, the sales of the pay TV market decreased, compared to the similar timeframe of 2014, along with a decline of the number of subscribers to these services, according to the statistical data on the evolution of pay TV market (cable, IP TV, MMDS), published by the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI). In the first quarter of this year, the total volume of sales on this market segment was 38,4 million lei, a reduction by 2,4 million lei (­5,9%), while the number of subscribers dropped by 6,4 thousand (­2,4%) and made up 267,6 thousand.

On June 8-10, 2015, a team of ANRCETI took part in a three-day workshop organized in Chisinau under TAIEX technical assistance tool, on quality of electronic communications services. The workshop was delivered by two experts from the communications regulatory authority in Latvia.

The National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) published on its website the information on quality parameters for public electronic communications services for the first qtr. of 2015, as measured by providers. This information was submitted to ANRCETI by 135 active electronic communications services providers, 31 of which also made this information publicly available on their websites.

Statistical data on the evolution of fixed line services in the first qtr. of 2015, published by the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI), show that in the first three months of the year the total sales revenues on this market increased 4,5% over the same period of 2014 and exceeded 264 million lei.

In 2014, the aggregated sales volume on the electronic communications market (mobile, fixed telephony, mobile and fixed broadband, broadcasting and retransmission, other activities in this area) increased, compared to 2013, by 2,4% and exceeded 6,8 billion lei. The most significant increases occurred on the market for mobile and fixed broadband (18%), other electronic communications services (26,5%). These data were conveyed to the public today, April 23, at a press conference organized by the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI), during which the ANRCETI officials presented the current situation and trends of the electronic communications market.

On February 10 - 11, a group of specialists from the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) are taking part in a workshop for electronic Communications regulators from Eastern Partnership countries, dedicated to broadband services. The workshop is held in Tbilisi, Georgia, under the European Commission technical assistance project "Network of Regulators from EaP states "(EaPeReg), which is supported by the body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications (BEREC).

The number of individuals and businesses, who requested ANRCETI to provide assistance throughout 2014, increased by 31.9%, reaching more than 780, according to a report on complaints received by ANRCETI last year. This is mainly due to the significant increase in the number of citizens calling ANRCETI free information hotline – 080080080 to address complaints.

The National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) informs electronic communications providers about the launch of the Negative Register of Active Debtors - the first European system to identify debtors, which provides services aimed at preventing and reducing business risks and providing the possibility of debt recovery without additional costs or efforts.

In 2014, the number of businesses that obtained the right to provide publicly available electronic communications networks and/or services under the general authorization regime increased, over 2013, by 3.7% and reached 50. According to the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI), on January 1 the number of businesses registered in the Public Registry of Public Electronic Communications Network and Service Providers, held by ANRCETI, reached 531.
