According to a report by the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI), the nature and number of contraventions recorded by ANRCETI, acting as acknowledging Agent, following the inspections performed in the first half of the year, significantly changed compared to same period of 2014. The number of contravention reports concluded by ANRCETI reduced more than 1,5 times: from 27 to 16, in most cases referring to businesses.

Of the 16 contravention reports, six referred to natural persons, the rest – to legal entities. All the reports were submitted for examination to court in Chisinau.

In the first half of 2015, the number of consumers of electronic communications services requesting assistance from the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) by means of petitions, hearings and calls to the ANRCETI hotline 080080080 increased compared to the same period of last year more than 1,5 times up to 208 people, according to a report on petitions processed in the first half of 2015.

The National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) published on its website, for public consultation, four draft Administrative Board Decisions with reference to the license auctions for band 790-862 MHz band, conventionally called 800 MHz band, and licenses 880-890/925-935 bands, conventionally called e900 MHz band, to be used in the provision of public terrestrial mobile electronic communications networks and services. The consultations will run through 22 July 2015, which is the deadline for recommendations on the proposed draft documents.

In the timeframe April - June 2015, the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) performed planned 24 inspections of the activity of electronic communications network/service providers, in which they verified the compliance with normative acts relevant for electronic communications. The inspections were carried out in accordance with the Schedule, developed according to the Law on State Control over Entrepreneurial Activity, approved by the ANRCETI Director and published on ANRCETI official website.

In the two years since number portability was launched, more than 90,7 thousand people used this service. Over 82,7 thousand or 91% of the total ported numbers were ported within mobile networks and about 8 thousand – in fixed networks. According to the data of the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI), in two years over 1,1% of the total numbering resources assigned by ANRCETI to electronic communications providers have been ported.

In the first three months of 2015, the total revenue from activities in the electronic communications sector (mobile telephony, dedicated mobile Internet, fixed telephony, fixed Internet, broadcasting and retransmission of audiovisual programs, other activities) increased by 7,5% over the same period of last year and reached billion 688,6 million lei. The National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) informs radio amateurs, intending to travel abroad and use personal radio stations in their destination country, that they need to obtain CEPT or CEPT Novice technical permits, authorising them to use such stations abroad. The CEPT/CEPT Novice technical permits are issued free of charge by ANRCETI, within maximum 30 days from the date of the written application.

In the first quarter of 2015, the total revenue from the Internet access at fixed locations increased compared to the same period of 2014 by more than 13,1% (29,7 million lei) up to 256 million lei. The number of fixed Internet subscribers increased 1,4% over the end of 2014, (+7,3 thousand) and exceeded 516,5 thousand. Statistical data about the evolution of mobile Internet access services in the first quarter of 2015 published by the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) show that the number of users accessing the Internet via 4G mobile networks increased compared to the same period of last year by 34,7% and constituted about 35,4 thousand, while the number of mobile broadband users (dedicated access via modems/cards/USB) increased by 4,8% and totaled more than 1 million 245,8 thousand. The penetration rate of this service per 100 population increased by 1,6% and equaled 35% the end of the first quarter.
