In the second qtr. of 2021, the number of users of pay TV (IP) services provided by means of IP networks increased over the end of 2020, by more than 9.2 thousand (+ 4.4%) to the total of 219.9 thousand , whereas the number of users connected by coaxial cable went down by 5.3 thousand (-3.5%) to the total of 144.9 thousand, as shown by the statistical data on the evolution of the pay TV market, aggregated by the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology. At the same time, the total number of pay TV subscribers increased by 3.9 thousand (+ 1.1%) to about 365 thousand.

Statistical data on the evolution of the fixed broadband market, aggregated by the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) show that, in the second quarter of this year, subscribers increasingly prefer fixed broadband connections by fiber (FTTx), their number going up, compared to the end of 2020, by 44.4 thousand (+ 8.5%), estimated at 564.2 thousand total. At the same time, the total number of fixed broadband subscribers increased over this timeframe 20.7 thousand (+ 2.9%) and reached 739.7 thousand.

According to the statistical data on the evolution of the mobile broadband market in the second qtr. 2021, processed by the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI), the total number of mobile broadband users by 4G technology increased, compared to the end of 2020, by about 181.8 thousand (+ 11%) and reached over 1.8 million, with a share of over 70% of the total users of mobile broadband services.

In the second qtr. of 2021 the total number of connections to fixed voice services decreased, compared to the end of 2020, by about 19.2 thousand and was estimated at 1.01 million, according to the statistical data on the evolution of the fixed voice services market, aggregated by the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology. At the same time, the total volume of revenues on this market decreased, compared to the same period last year, by 12.5% and reached 85.9 million lei, and the volume of total voice traffic generated by fixed voice users decreased by 20.3%, to about 247 million minutes.

According to the statistical data on the evolution of the mobile voice market, in the second qtr. of 2021, there is a growing trend of its main indicators. The total number of users increased, compared to the end of 2020, by 5.5% up to 4.3 million, the volume of voice traffic generated by users increased, compared to the same period last year, by 2.4 % and reached 1.7 billion minutes, and the total volume of revenues generated by providers increased by 2%, and was estimated at 719.9 million lei, compared to the second quarter of 2020.

In the first quarter of 2021, the volume of revenues from activities in the electronic communications sector (mobile and fixed voice, mobile and fixed broadband, audiovisual broadcasting and other) decreased by 1.3% compared to the same period the previous year, and was estimated at 1 billion. 441 million lei, according to the Report on the evolution of this market in the first quarter of 2021, published on the official website of the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI).

According to the statistical data, aggregated by the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI), the main indicators of the pay TV market (coaxial cable networks and IP TV), increased in the first quarter of 2021. The volume of pay TV revenues increased, compared to the similar period of 2020, by 3.1% and reached about 47 million lei, and the total number of subscribers increased, compared to the end of 2020, by 0,6% and made up about 363 thousand.

In the first three months of this year, the number of fixed broadband connections, enabling over 100 Mbps speeds, increased by 13.3% compared to the end of 2020, and was estimated at about 190 thousand, whereas connections of less than 100 Mbps were in decline, according to statistical data aggregated by the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI).

The statistical report on the evolution of the postal communications market in 2020, published by the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) on the page www.anrceti.md reflects a considerable increase in the total volume of postal parcel traffic (+58,2%), compared to 2019, reaching 870.6 thousand. From the total number of parcels sent in that period - over 628 thousand (+ 45.8%) were sent domestically, 13.5 thousand (+ 16.1%) - sent abroad, and about 229 thousand (+ 111.9%) were parcels received from outside of the Republic of Moldova.

Statistical data on the evolution of the mobile voice market in the first quarter of 2021, aggregated by the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) show that during the reporting period, the volume of voice traffic in mobile networks increased, compared to the same period of 2020, by 6.4%, exceeding 1.6 billion minutes. Thus, the traffic in own networks increased by 2.4% and accounted for about 1.2 billion minutes, traffic to fixed networks increased by 15.3% and reached over 74 million minutes, and traffic to other mobile networks increased by 22.8% and totaled about 377 million minutes.
