The National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI), on the website www.anrceti.md, launched for public consultation the draft Administrative Board Decisions to modify the Special Preventive Obligations imposed on fixed and mobile voice network providers on the markets of voice call termination in fixed and mobile networks.

The National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) informs the providers of publicly available electronic communications services (Internet access services) about the approval, by ANRCETI Administrative Board, of Decision no. 3 of February 25, 2022 for enforcement of Order of the Commission for Exceptional Situations of the Republic of Moldova no. 1 of February 24, 2022.

On February 11, 2022, during the joint meeting of the Governments of Romania and the Republic of Moldova, the Agreement on reducing the tariffs for the provision of international roaming services and those of international calls between the two counties was signed. The agreement was concluded for an initial period of 5 years. The National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology of the Republic of Moldova (ANRCETI) and the National Authority for Management and Regulation in Communications (ANCOM) provided technical assistance in the negotiation and drafting of this agreement for the benefit of users of electronic communications in the two counties.

The National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) announces public consultation of the draft decision on approving tariffs for postal services in the sphere of universal postal service (UPS) and tariffs applied for the use of the public postal network of State Posta Moldovei company. The public consultation will run till January 31, 2022, this being the deadline for submitting recommendations.

The volume of revenues from electronic communications activities (mobile and fixed voice, mobile and fixed broadband, broadcasting of audiovisual programs and other) in the third qtr. of this year increased compared to the same period of last year by 1.3% and totaled over 1.5 billion lei, according to the Report on market evolution in the third qtr. of 2021, published today on the official ANRCETI website.

The statistical data on the evolution of the pay TV market (via cable and IP TV) aggregated by ANRCETI show that in the third quarter of 2021, the total number of subscribers connected to these services increased by 2%, compared to the end of 2020 and was estimated at 368.1 thousand, and the total volume of revenues in this market segment increased by 29.5%, compared to the third quarter of last year, and reached 59 million lei. As a result of this evolution, the average monthly revenue per subscriber (ARPU) increased by 23.2% and equaled 53.5 lei.

In the third quarter of 2021, fixed broadband Internet connections increased by 4.2% to 749.4 thousand, and the volume of revenues from the sale of these services increased by 4.8%, to a total of about 363 million lei. As a result of this evolution, the average monthly income per user (ARPU) for fixed broadband services decreased by 2% and equaled 162.4 lei.

According to the statistical data on the evolution of the mobile broadband market in the third qtr. of 2021, aggregated by the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI), the total number of users accessing mobile broadband via 4G networks increased, compared to the end of 2020, by about 25.5% and was estimated at about 2.1 million, of which about 2 million - accessed mobile broadband services via smartphone, and the rest used the dedicated access (via modems/cards). At the same time, the total number of mobile Internet users (2G, 3G, 4G + dedicated) increased by 17.6% and exceeded 2 million 788 thousand. As a result of this evolution, the penetration rate of mobile broadband Internet access services, per 100 inhabitants, increased by 17.6 percentage points and reached 107.4%.
