Radio Frequency Spectrum (RFS)

National Frequency Assignment Chart (NTFA)

Radio frequencies and channels are assigned in accordance with the National Table for Frequency Allocations (NTFA), approved by Decision of State Radio Frequency Commission no. 11 of 27.04.2000. NTFA meets the national priorities and is in line with allocation of frequency bands established by competent ITU bodies.

Use of Radio Frequencies and Channles

Radio frequencies used by owners of short range devices (SRD) of secondary status for individual and corporative needs

ANRCETI Administrative Board Decision no.126 of 02.06.2009 established 13 categories of frequencies the use of which is not subject to general usage regime and is allowed without a license for the use of radio frequencies/channels or technical permit. These categories of frequencies can be used under the conditions of NTFA, National Recommendation RN 035 (pag. 133 of NTFA) and CEPT Recommendation ERC 70-03.

Radio channels/frequencies used by owners of radiocommunications stations for individual and corporative needs

A technical permit, issued by ANRCETI is required for the use of the following radio communications stations: for radio amateurs, CB (Citizen Band), taxi, electric networks, security systems, for occasional transmissions, including via satellite, associated technologies or radio relays networks within electronic communications networks. The procedure is laid down in the Instruction on technical permit issuance for radio communications stations, approved by ANRCETI Administrative Board Decision No. 16 of 23.09.2008.

Radio channels/frequencies used for the provision of public electronic communications services (cable television and radio, WiFi internet access, etc.)

Pursuant to Art. 24 paragraph (4) of the Law on Electronic Communications no. 241-XVI of 15.11.2007, the Agency may establish certain categories of channels and frequencies the use of which is allowed under general authorization, without a license for the use of radio frequencies and channels.

The Regulations thereof is under development.

Radio frequencies/channels used for the provision of public electronic communications services (mobile telephony, regardless of technology, fixed CDMA, on-air radio and television)

The use of this type of radio frequencies/channels is based on licenses issued by ANRCETI according to the procedure provided in the Regulations on general authorization regime in electronic communications, under strict compliance with general and special license conditions. These licenses can be transferred, this act requiring an application submitted to ANRCETI, in accordance with the transfer procedure and conditions.
