Government Appointed a New Deputy Director of ANRCETI

By Decision no.1053 of 14 September 2016, the Government appointed Marian Pocaznoi as Deputy Director of the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI). Previously, Pocaznoi had worked as Head of the Monitoring and Control Department of ANRCETI. Marian Pocaznoi was appointed Deputy Director for a four-year term of office. The Government Decision entered into force on September 16, when it was published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Moldova.

ANRCETI Launches Public Consultations for Regulatory Impact Assessment of Three Draft Decisions on Implementation of Single 112 Emergency Number

The National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) launched public consultations on the Regulatory Impact Assessment (RIA) on three draft Administrative Board Decisions: The technical, legal and organizational/economic conditions (.pdf) with reference to the implementation of electronic communications to / from 112 Service, the technical conditions for the transmission of the information on primary location (.pdf) for calls to the single emergency number 112, Procedures and technical limitations (.pdf) to reduce abusive calls, false alerts and involuntary calls to the 112 service, as well as the mentioned draft documents, prepared by ANRCETI jointly with providers and 112 service. The consultation will last through September 28, which is the deadline for submitting recommendations on the mentioned documents.

The share of subscribers using fixed high speed Internet services reached 53 percent

Statistical data about the evolution of the market for Internet access at fixed locations for the first half of 2016 published by the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) show that in this timeframe the share of subscribers to high speed Internet services reached nearly 53 percent. Most of them are connected to the Internet by means of fiber optic technologies, which provide high-speed access and data transfer.

Main Indicators of Fixed Telephony Market Continue to Decline in First Half Year 2016

In January-June 2016, the fixed telephony market continued to decrease as regards the number of subscribers, voice traffic and sale of services, which has become a tendency of this market over the past three years. Statistical data on market developments, which are published by the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) show that the number of subscribers has dropped since the end of 2015 by over 11,2 thousand (0,9%) and totaled about 1 million 191,2 thousand. The total voice traffic decreased, compared to the first half of 2015, by 109,7 million minutes (10,2%) down to 967,3 million minutes, and the volume of service sale – by 41,2 million lei (8,1%) and made up over 466,6 mil. lei.

The National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) posted on its official website www.anrceti.md a new section - Postal Communications, which includes useful information for postal service users, for entrepreneurs working in this sector and for those who intend to enter the postal market. ANRCETI developed this section as the authority, empowered by Law on Postal Communications no.36 of 17.03.2016 (hereinafter - Law no. 36/2016) with regulatory and supervisory functions for the postal service market.
