The statistical data on the evolution of the fixed voice market in the 3d qtr of the current year, processed by the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI), attest to the constant decline of the main indicators of this market. The total number of subscribers decreased by 3.2% compared to the end of 2021 down to approximately 968.2 mil., the total traffic volume decreased by 20.1% and showed approximately 176 million minutes, and the total volume of revenues on this market decreased by 21.5% and reached approximately 62.7 mil. lei.

According to the data reported to ANRCETI, the number of JSC Moldtelecom’s subscribers decreased by 3.2%, making up 865 thousand, and that of alternative providers decreased by 3.1%, making up 103.2 thousand subscribers. Consequently, the penetration rate of fixed telephony services per 100 inhabittants decreased by 0.9 percentage points and reached 37.2%, compared to the same period last year.

The decrease in the volume of voice traffic in fixed telephony networks was caused by the decrease of all types of traffic. Thus, the traffic in international incoming networks decreased by 42.6%, the traffic in outgoing international networks decreased by 33.3%, the traffic generated to other fixed networks - by 29.7%, the traffic to mobile networks - by 17.5%. As a result, the average monthly voice traffic per subscriber (MoU) decreased by 18.2% and constituted 88 minutes (1 hour and 28 minutes).

The average monthly revenue per user (ARPU) decreased by 18.8% and equaled 21.4 lei. JSC Moldtelecom reported an ARPU of 22.2 lei (down by 19.7%), and the alternative providers - a cumulative ARPU of 15.3 lei (down by 6.5%).

At the end of the reporting period, the market share of JSC Moldtelecom by volume of revenues, was 92.4%.
