Last week, the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI), hosted a working meeting with the team of the National Authority for Administration and Regulation in Communications (ANCOM) from Romania (ANCOM), headed by President, Vlad Stefan Stoica, during which the parties discussed several topics of common interest to both authorities.
The main topic of the discussion was the status of implementation of the Agreement on reduction of roaming tariffs between both countries and the joint actions of the two regulatory authorities. The prospect of establishing a roaming agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the European Union was also on the agenda.
Both sides expressed positive appreciation of the effects brought by the implementation of the Agreement on reduction of roaming tariffs, mentioning the essential decrease of tariffs and the increase of the consumption of roaming services between the two countries.
ANRCETI management thanked ANCOM management for the good cooperation in the process of implementation of the Agreement on the reduction of roaming tariffs between the Republic of Moldova and Romania, as well as for the cooperation on Eastern Partnership (EaP) platform.
In turn, ANCOM management gave assurance of full support to ANRCETI's efforts in the pathway towards European integration and for the implementation of a regulatory framework harmonized with the European one in the Republic of Moldova.
The representatives of both authorities mentioned the positive evolution of cooperation relations, expressing their common intention to develop and intensify the dialogue in the fields regulated by the two authorities.
