A delegation of the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI), led by Director Sergiu Gaibu, is attending the Mobile World Congress (MWC) from February 26th to 29th in Barcelona, an event annually organized by the GSM Association (GSMA).
The Mobile World Congress (MWC) is one of the largest and most important events in the telecommunications and mobile technology industry. It is organized on yearly basis, providing a massive platform for companies worldwide to showcase their latest innovations in mobile phones, mobile networks, IoT (Internet of Things) devices, 5G technologies, cybersecurity solutions, artificial intelligence, and much more.
MWC 2024 brings together mobile device manufacturers, representatives of mobile phone companies and the software industry, regulatory authorities in electronic communications and public policy, independent experts, analysts, researchers, and representatives of various international associations in the field. It is a place where participants can discover the latest trends and technological innovations, learn about industry development directions and policies, interact with market leaders, and establish new partnerships.
During the event, Sergiu Gaibu had a meeting with the representatives of the leadership of BEREC (Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications), bringing into discussion multiple aspects related to ANRCETI's accession to BEREC, as well as the process of aligning the national regulatory framework with the European Electronic Communications Code, the procedure for radio frequency allocation, including for 5G technologies, and the mechanism for cooperation and experience exchange between the two parties.
