In connection with the emergency situation caused by the spread of COVID-19 virus, the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI), recommends that electronic communications and postal service providers make use, to the fullest extent possible, of remote ways of communication and interaction with customers, such as customer support services via phones, e-mail and other available means of remote communication.
In order to increase the awareness about the epidemiological situation in the country and in order to ensure that the necessary measures are taken to prevent the spread of the virus, ANRCETI Administrative Board approved Decision no. 5 of March 16, 2020 on Emergency Measures related to providers operation and provision of publicly available electronic communications and postal services.
In accordance with the decision, ANRCETI draws the attention of the electronic communications and postal service providers on the need to take due measures to protect public health, established by the Extraordinary National Public Health Commission through decisions no. 8 and no. 9 of March 15, 2020 regarding the evolution of the epidemiological situation of the COVID-19 infection, especially in relation to the activity of retail entities (sales and customer service points).
Also, ANRCETI draws the attention of the network and service providers on the need to ensure good functioning of the electronic communications networks and services during the emergency situation and most urgent resumption of services in case of failures.
