National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology of the Republic of Moldova

The National Agency for Regulation in Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) has signed a Letter of Engagement with the Telecommunication Development Bureau (BDT) of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). The document was signed remotely by Octavian Rău, ANRCETI Director and Doreen Bogdan-Martin, BDT Director.

The Parties intend to cooperate in order to support ITU in developing the Interactive Transmission Map - an interactive platform for mapping fiber optic and radio relay transmission networks around the world, which will serve as an important tool for all stakeholders interested in developing broadband network infrastructure, which will foster investment and economic growth across the Region.

The commitment set out in the Letter of Engagement provides that ANRCETI will periodically present a set of indicators, as requested by ITU. ANRCETI will collect the data from the electronic communications providers operating on the market, observing confidentiality provisions.

The Interactive Transmission Map is an ITU project and aims to research, process and create basic maps on terrestrial transmission networks for the following regions: Arab region, CIS region, Asia Pacific region, North America and Latin America regions and the Caribbean and the African region.
