In the second quarter of 2022, the volume of revenues from the activities on the electronic communications sector (mobile and fixed voice, mobile and fixed broadband, retransmission of audiovisual programs and other activities in the field of electronic communications) increased by 0.3%, compared to of the similar period of the previous year and was estimated at 1 billion. 493.8 million lei, according to the Report on the evolution of this market in the second quarter of 2022, published on the official website of the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) www.anrceti.md.
This increase was triggered by the higher revenues obtained from fixed and mobile broadband and pay TV services. Revenues on the fixed broadband market increased by 3.6%, to a total of 371.3 million lei, revenues on mobile broadband market increased by 4.1% up to 327.3 million lei, and those on the pay TV market increased by 23.5% and reached 72 million lei. At the same time, the revenues obtained from other electronic communications activities increased by 11% and equaled 207.9 million lei.
Revenues from the fixed and mobile voice decreased during this period – the revenues from fixed voice - by 19.2%, to 69.4 million lei, from the mobile voice - by 0.9%, to 713, 1 million lei.
The highest average monthly revenue per user (ARPU) was reported on the fixed broadband market - 159.5 lei, down by 1.7% compared to the same period last year. The value of this indicator on the data-only mobile broadband market was 101.4 lei, up by 8.4%. On the mobile voice market it was 57.8 lei (-15.2%), on the pay TV - 32.8 lei (down by 38.3%), and on the fixed voice market it was 23.5 lei (down by 17%).
