The volume of revenues from electronic communications sector (mobile and fixed voice, mobile and fixed broadband, audiovisual broadcasting and other) decreased by 6.8% in the second quarter of this year, compared to the same period of last year, and was estimated at 1.4 billion lei, according to the Report on market evolution in the second quarter of 2020, published on the official website of the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI).
Revenues from pay TV services increased, compared to the similar quarter of the previous year, by 10.8% and reached 45.6 million lei, and those from fixed broadband services increased by 1.6% and totaled 344.7 million lei.
At the same time, the volume of revenues mobile and fixed voice services decreased by 9.9%, and by 15.9%, accordingly, showing 707.1 million lei, and 97.9 million lei, accordingly. Revenues from dedicated mobile broadband services decreased by 1.9% and reached 57.9 million lei, from other electronic communications activities decreased by 2, 2% and reached 168.3 million lei.
The most significant average monthly revenue per user (ARPU) was attested on the fixed broadband market - 168 lei, lower by 5.3% compared to the same period last year. The value of this indicator on the dedicated mobile broadband market was 88.5 lei, increased by 7.4%, on the mobile voice market - by 68.8 lei (-7.5%), on the pay TV market - 43.8 lei (+7.3%), and on the fixed voice market - 30.9 lei (-12.9%).
