According to statistical data on the evolution of the market for audiovisual media services, aggregated by the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI), in 2019, the total volume of revenues from these services increased by 20%, reaching 298.6 million lei, and the total number of subscribers to pay TV services increased by 1.7%, to a total of 335.4 thousand. Following this evolution, the penetration rate of the pay TV services, per 100 inhabitants, increased by 0.4 percentage points and reached 12.5%, while the average monthly revenue per subscriber (ARPU) for pay TV services decreased by 6.5% and showed 39.1 lei.

At the same time, the number of subscribers to IPTV services increased, compared to 2018, by 13.4% and was estimated at 180.5 thousand subscribers, and the volume of revenues from these services increased by 12.8% and were estimated at about 89,3 million lei.

The detailed analysis of the data presented by the 47 active providers on the pay TV service market shows that the share of subscribers connected by IPTV technology was 53.8%, the share of those connected by coaxial cable - 46.2%. The same data show that 71.6% of the total subscribers used digital TV and 28.4% - analog.

In 2019, the largest providers in the pay TV market, according to the turnover, had the following market shares: JSC Moldtelecom - 38.2%, LLC TV BOX - 16.4 , LLC Sun Communications - 15.8%. The cumulative market share of the other 44 suppliers was 29.6%.
