ANRCETI Takes Part in Two Events of Eastern Partnership Electronic Communications Regulators’ Network

On November 26-27, 2019, representatives of the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI), are taking part in two events organized by the Eastern Partnership Electronic Communications Regulators’ Network (EaPeReg): Plenary Meeting and Workshop on implementation of the Roam Like at Home (RLAH) regime in the EU. The events take place in Riga, Latvia, hosted by the Public Utilities Commission (SPRK), with the support of the European Commission.

The events are attended by representatives of regulatory authorities of the EaPeReg Network (Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Ukraine, the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Moldova), the Body of European Regulators in Electronic Communications (BEREC), as well as representatives of the International Telecommunications Union (ITU).

The Agenda of the EaPeReg Plenary Meeting includes presentation of EaPeReg Activity Report for 2019, elections of EaPeReg Chair and Vice-Chair 2020, approval of the network Work Plan for next year, as well as signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the EaPeReg and ITU.

The Plenary will also discuss and approve the Activity Reports for 2019 of its three expert working groups: IRB EWG (Independent Regulators end Broadband Expert Working Group), SEWG (Spectrum Expert Working Group) and REWG (Roaming Expert Working Group), as well as their Work Plans for 2020.

The RLAH workshop agenda includes issues related to the implementation of RLAH in EU member countries, challenges and solutions used at wholesale and retail level for each service: voice, SMS and data transmission, from a technical and economic viewpoint, as well as a review of policies regarding the correct use of voice and data roaming services.

EaPeReg is an independent platform, whose mission is to ensure a permanent exchange of information and experience between electronic communications regulators of EaP and EU countries, harmonization of legal framework in the EaP countries with EU standards and the application of the best European regulatory practices.
