ANRCETI signed collaboration agreement with association of private ICT companies

Today, January 25, the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI – www.anrceti.md) and the Association of Private ICT Companies (ANCP) concluded a collaboration agreement to facilitate cooperation in the field of ICT. It was signed today by Sergiu Sitnic, ANRCETI Director, and Veaceslav Cunev, chairman of ANCP, in a meeting of representatives from both entities. It is the first agreement signed by ANRCETI with a patronage organization.

During the meeting ANRCETI officials made an overview of the main activities of the Agency in 2010, problems as well as projects for 2011. In turn, the representatives of ANCP emphasized the goals, priorities and future plans of their organization. The parties discussed the draft agreement, the main vectors and areas of collaboration, as well as cooperation tools.

Sergiu Sitnic declared that ANRCETI is interested in strengthening partnership relations with patronage organizations in the ICT sector and counts much on their support in developing and implementing regulations enhancing the development of the communications market, promoting fair competition and fostering investment into the sector. He underlined that the Agency expect its partners to more actively participate in the decision-making process of ANRCETI, to provide specific opinions and proposals for all the projects deemed to have a significant impact on the market, which are made subject to public consultations by the Agency. He also said that the Agency is ready to sign collaboration agreements with all ICT patronage organizations wishing to have a long-lasting partnership with the regulator.

In his turn, Veaceslav Cunev said that signing a collaboration agreement with ANRCETI is part of ANCP policy of promoting partnership with state IST entities. He expressed his confidence that this kind of collaboration will be really useful both for the two parties and for all operators in the ICT sector.

The main purpose of the Collaboration Agreement (doc. in state language) with ANCP is to enhance cooperation activities in electronic communications market regulation, promotion of a fair competitive environment, prevention of actions leading to or resulting in competition distortion or restriction. The agreement provides for exchange of experience between the parties by organizing mutual consultations and surveys, ICT-related seminars, conferences and forums.

ANCP was founded in 2006. It promotes ICT sector development through sustainable partnerships with private companies, similar organizations, state and international institutions. Its activity is aimed at enhancing competitiveness through capacity building of member companies, market expansion, attracting investment into the country and participation in decision-making and regulatory process pertaining to the sector. Currently, ANCP has 29 members, ICT companies employing a quarter of all employees in the ICT sector.
