Number of Petitions Examined by ANRCETI Decreased in 2019

The National Regulatory Agency for Regulation in Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) registered and examined 182 petitions from users of electronic communications and postal services, which is a decrease by about 32% compared to 2018, shows the Report on Petitions examined by ANRCETI during 2019.

Of the total number of petitions examined by ANRCETI specialists, 91.2% (166 petitions) addressed the issue of electronic communications services, 8.8% (16 petitions) were related to postal service provision. According to the Report, most users were dissatisfied with the quality of Internet access services (58 petitions), reporting problems related to service billing (12 petitions), temporary suspension of services (9 petitions), Internet speed ( 7 petitions), service provision conditions (7 petitions), modification of the technology (4 petitions), etc. The issues reported by the users of the postal services were related to delivery time of the postal items and their damage.

Most petitions concerned the activity of JSC "Moldtelecom" (60 petitions), JSC "Orange Moldova" (41 petitions), JSC Moldcell (34 petitions), State companu ” Poșta Moldovei (16 petitions), LLC "StarNet Solutions" (11 petitions) and other providers (20 petitions).

According to the report, all the petitions registered with ANRCETI were examined within the appropriate deadline and in the manner established by relevant legislation. The well-founded petitions (26) were resolved in favor of the consumers; in other cases ANRCETI specialists offered petitioners appropriate recommendations for the reported issues.

With reference to the information requests and consultations through the institutional telephone line 080080080, the authors of the report mention that consultations were provided to 434 callers, out of which only 96 concerned ANRCETI's competence and appropriate recommendations were provided to other 338 calls. Starting April 1, 2019, ANRCETI has examined and solved petitions based on the Administrative Code of the Republic of Moldova no. 116 of July 19, 2018.
