ANRCETI Representatives Take Part in a Regional Seminar Organized by the International Telecommunication Union

A team of specialists from the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) took part in a three-day regional seminar for the CIS and Georgia held in Odessa, Ukraine. The event was organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) jointly with the Odessa National Academy of Telecommunications S. A. Popov. The seminar was focused on issues of cyber security in the ICT sector.

The event was attended by ITU officials, representatives of ministries, regulators, ICT companies, law enforcement bodies and academia from CIS and Georgia.

The agenda included six sessions of discussions and exchange of experience in cyber security, scheduled to end on June 17 with a round table to discuss key directions of ensuring cyber security in ICT sector.

During the sessions on Wednesday and Thursday, speakers made presentations about the role of international organizations and states in ensuring the cyber security, regulatory methods applied by some countries in this respect, technical, organizational and procedural aspects of cyber security in the ICT sector. Friday's session examined issues related to child online security and the results achieved within the regional initiative on creating the Child Online Protection Center for CIS.

ITU is a specialized agency of the United Nations that promotes ICT development and standardization policies. Currently, 193 countries and about 800 private sector entities and academia are ITU members. Moldova joined as ITU full member in October 1992.
