New technical assistance program delivered to ANRCETI

On March 12 – 16, 2012, a group of specialists from the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) will take part in the TAIEX assistance program regarding harmonization of some regulatory aspects from Moldova to the norms applied in the European Union. The TAIEX Program is offered by the European Commission and supported by a team of experts from Lithuania.

The experts and the ANRCETI participants to the workshop will review four important issues for the development of the electronic communications market: general authorization, licensing the use of spectrum, monitoring and control of market players’ activity, preventing contraventions in the sector.

In the five days of the workshop, the Agency specialists will share the experience and challenges they face in performing their duties related to the aforementioned aspects. The foreign experts will review, comment and provide recommendations, in the light of EU regulatory framework, on how to make ANRCETI’s activity in this regard more efficient.

On the last day of the workshop, the participants will examine the results of the assistance program and will discuss the details of organizing a new program focused on consumer protection issues.

The workshop is the second TAIEX assistance program delivered to ANRCETI. The first program was offered to the Agency in April 2011. It was focused on the development of regulatory acts on number portability implementation in Moldova.

TAIEX is an instrument of technical assistance provision for transposition of EU legislation to the beneficiary states and its enforcement by corresponding authorities. TAIEX provides technical training and counseling of experts in recipient countries, by means of the assistance offered by counterparts who already mastered the good practices.
