National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology of the Republic of Moldova

A team of specialists from the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) took part on October 10-13, 2016 in the meetings of the two expert groups and in a workshop, organized by the EaP Regulators’ network (EaPeReg), held in Kiev, Ukraine.

The EaPeReg events brought together the regulatory authorities from all Eastern Partnership countries (Ukraine, Armenia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Moldova) and European Union member states (Germany, Portugal, Latvia, Romania, etc).

The Agenda of the Spectrum Expert Working Group meeting (SEWG) included issues related to the current status of 470-694 MHz, 700 MHz, 800 MHz radio frequency bands and future ultra-high frequency band (UHF). The Agenda of the meeting of the Benchmarking Expert Working Group (BeWG) envisaged examining the reports on statistics and benchmarking on the development of fixed and mobile markets, pay TV, fixed and mobile Internet in EaP countries. At this meeting, the working group approved its Action Plan for 2017.

ANRCETI experts also took part in a two day seminar on quality of service and protection of end-user of electronic communications services.

EaPeReg Network was created in September 2012 in Chisinau at a meeting of regulators in electronic communications from EaP countries. The network has the mission to ensure the exchange of information and experience between EaP and EU regulators on harmonization of the national legal frameworks of EaP countries with EU standards and the application of best European regulatory practices. Since 2013, the EaPeReg Networks is part of a technical assistance project delivered by the European Commission.
