The document, published the website of the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) shows that, in the third quarter of 2013, total revenues from electronic communications services (mobile telephony, mobile broadband, fixed telephony, fixed Internet and data transmission, audiovisual broadcasting and retransmission) slightly decreased, by 0.63% (10.7 million lei), compared with the same period of 2012, and equaled 1 billion 668.6 million lei.
This decrease occurred due to lower sales on the fixed telephony market and mobile broadband market. On the first market the revenues decreased by 18.7% (74.3 million lei) compared to the corresponding period of 2012 and constituted 322 million lei, on the second market – by about 1.7% (970 thousand) and came to about 57.6 million lei.
In the same period, the largest increase in revenues occurred on the data transmission and fixed broadband markets. The volume of sales in this market increased by approximately 20.4% (41.1 million lei) and came to nearly 243.2 million. Revenues from audiovisual broadcasting and retransmission increased by approximately 13.6% (10.4 million lei), reaching about 86.9 million lei, the revenues from mobile telephone services increased by 1.4% (12.9 million lei) and amounted to about 958.9 million lei.
During the reporting period, the fixed broadband market recorded the highest monthly revenue per user (ARPU) – 150.1 lei. On the fixed telephony market, this indicator was 88.2 lei, on mobile broadband market – 86.9 lei, mobile telephony – 74.4 lei and pay TV market (cable networks, satellite networks, IPTV and MMDS) – 50.1 lei.
