On Tuesday, October 4, at 15.00, the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI - www.anrceti.md) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) are holding a briefing to present the results of the implementation of the EBRD technical assistance project „Communications Regulatory Development”. The event will take place in the Conference Room, ANRCETI Office, 5th floor, (Stefan cel Mare bd, 134, opposite ULIM).
The briefing will be held by Sergiu Sitnic, ANRCETI Director, Paul Moffatt, Senior Advisor for Legal Affairs, EBRD and William Burnfield, the project manager.
The project lasted for two years, since October 2009 and was financed and delivered by the EBRD, at the request of the Government of Moldova as technical assistance to ANRCETI in the implementation of the Law on Electronic Communications and harmonization of the national regulatory practices in the sector with the norms and standards of the European Union (EU).
The main objective of the project was to provide the necessary assistance to ANRCETI and to the Government of R. Moldova in the implementation of a modern, transparent, predictable regulatory framework, favorable to investors, in accordance with EU requirements in this field and in strengthening the regulator’s institutional capacities.
The „Communications Regulatory Development” project is the second technical assistance project delivered to the electronic communications regulator of R. Moldova. The first project was implemented in the timeframe 2000 - 2002 by the USAID.
