National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology of the Republic of Moldova

The National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) announces a public meeting for Friday, June 16, 2023, at 10:00 AM, to examine and approve two draft decisions:
1. Decision regarding the limitation of the number of licenses for the use of radio frequencies/channels in the frequency range [174-230 MHz] for the provision of electronic communications networks and services in the digital terrestrial broadcasting system (T-DAB+), national multiplexes: DAB + A; DAB + B.
2. Decision on approval of the Special License Conditions for the use of radio frequencies/channels in the frequency range [174-230 MHz] for the provision of electronic communications networks and services in the digital terrestrial broadcasting system (T-DAB+), national/regional multiplexes: DAB + A; DAB + B.

Both documents were publicly consulted in the timeframe March 31 - April 21, 2023.

According to the Explanatory Note No. 1, the number of licenses for the use of radio frequencies/channels in the frequency range [174-230 MHz] for the provision of electronic communications networks and services in the digital terrestrial broadcasting system (T-DAB+), multiplexes: DAB + A; DAB + B, is limited. These licenses will be granted free of charge through an open type auction with international participation and the application of the comparative selection procedure, organized by ANRCETI according to the selection criteria and procedure established by ANRCETI. The maximum quantity of radio spectrum in the frequency range [174-230 MHz] that can be requested by the same applicant, and on which the same bidder can hold usage rights after the competition, is not limited. The recommendations received on this document are included in the Summary of Recommendations No. 1.

According to the Explanatory Note No. 2, the document provides for the approval of the Special License Conditions for the use of radio frequencies/channels in the frequency range [174-230 MHz] for the provision of electronic communications networks and services in the digital terrestrial broadcasting system (T-DAB+), of national/regional multiplexes: DAB + A and DAB + B, which are an integral part of the license for the use of radio channels 11 and 12 in the frequency range [174-230 MHz] for the provision of electronic communications networks and services in the digital terrestrial broadcasting system (T-DAB+), of national/regional multiplexes: DAB + A/DAB + B, and contains the requirements that must be strictly observed by the license holder when providing public networks/multiplexes with national/regional coverage and publicly accessible electronic communications services in the digital terrestrial broadcasting system, as well as the rights of the license holder. The recommendations received regarding the respective project are included in the Summary of Recommendations No. 2.
