National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology of the Republic of Moldova

On June 1-2, the Director of the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI), Sergiu Gaibu, took part in a regional event ”Enhancing 5G Network Security in Europe: Regional Workshop on Secure 5G Deployment and Supplier Diversity”, in Warsaw, Poland. The event was attended by government officials, regulatory authorities, telecommunications experts, as well as representatives from the private sector.

On May 31, 2023, the mobile network providers in the Republic of Moldova—Moldcell, Orange Moldova, and Moldtelecom — signed the Declaration on Mutual Reduction of Roaming Rates with major operator groups from the European Union (EU) and the European Economic Area (EEA)—Orange Group, Deutsche Telekom, and Telefonica Group.

The National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology announces a public meeting to take place on May 26, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., to examine and propose for approval the draft Administrative Board Decision on establishing of public services in the areas of electronic and postal communications and the Regulation on Public Service Provision by ANRCETI in the fields of electronic and postal communications.

On May 12, 2023 the management of the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) organized a meeting with the providers of postal services. The subjects under discussion addressed to the key issues and challenges the postal communications sector faces and their possible solutions.

By publishing the yearbook, ANRCETI reaffirms its commitment to monitor the sector's evolution and promote its development, ensuring the protection of users' interests and the transparent and competitive operation of the market.

On April 26th, Mr. Sergiu Gaibu, Director of the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI), along with the Administrative Board, organized a meeting with electronic communications providers in the Republic of Moldova. The objective of the meeting was to discuss the challenges facing the electronic communications sector and explore new ways to improve services and regulations.

The National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) updated the application “Mobile Coverage Map_ Quality Parameters” (https://harta.anrceti.md/#/home) with new data based on measurements taken on 35 national roads and in the built-up areas of 45 urban localities, in the timeframe January - September 2022 by the National Radio Frequency Management Service (SNMFR).

Today, Dorin Recean, Prime Minister of Moldova, introduced Mr. Sergiu Gaibu, the new Director of the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) to the regulator's staff. Appointed during the Government Meeting on April 19, Sergiu Gaibu will lead the institution for a four-year term of office.

This week, the leadership of the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology had an online meeting with the representatives of the BEREC Office (Body of European Regulators for Electronic Communications).
