In the 3rd qtr. Of 2022, the volume of revenues generated by the electronic communications sector (mobile and fixed voice, mobile and fixed broadband, retransmission of audiovisual programs and other) increased, compared to the similar period last year, by 3% up to over 1bn. 568.4 million lei, according to the Report on market evolution in the 3rd qtr. of 2022, published on the official website of the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) www.anrceti.md.

In the 3rd qtr. of this year, the number of fixed broadband subscribers increased, compared to the end of 2021, by 3.5% and reached about 789 thousand. The share of subscribers according to type of connections were as follows: fiber connections (FTTx) - 85.2%, - xDSL connections - 11.4%, coaxial cable - 3.1%, other technologies - 0.3%. These are the statistical data on the evolution of the fixed broadband market during the 3rd quarter of 2002, aggregated by the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI).

In the timeframe July-September 2022, the mobile broadband traffic (3G, 4G and data-only access technologies) increased, compared to the same quarter of 2021, by 27.3%, making a total of over 67.7 million GB. This development is explained by over 41.4% increase in traffic generated via smartphones, which totaled a volume of 54.2 million GB. On the other hand, the traffic generated by mobile broadband users by means of data-only access decreased by 9.2% and totaled 13.5 million GB. A user who accessed mobile broadband from a smartphone generated an average monthly traffic (AUPU) of 6.6 GB (+29.1%), and a user data-only access – an AUPU of 34, 2 GB (+18.6%).

The National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) launches public consultations on Draft Administrative Board Decision to revise Annex 2 of Decision no. 32/2022 on approving tariffs for postal services within the scope of the universal postal service, provided by State Company "Posta Moldovei". The statistical data on the evolution of the fixed voice market in the 3d qtr of the current year, processed by the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI), attest to the constant decline of the main indicators of this market. The total number of subscribers decreased by 3.2% compared to the end of 2021 down to approximately 968.2 mil., the total traffic volume decreased by 20.1% and showed approximately 176 million minutes, and the total volume of revenues on this market decreased by 21.5% and reached approximately 62.7 mil. lei.

In the third qtr. of 2022, the total number of mobile voice users increased by 8%, reaching over a little more than 5 mil., compared to the end of 2021, while the total volume of voice traffic they generated decreased by 6.7%, compared to the same period of last year and made a total of 1 bn. 564.4 mil. minutes. At the same time, the total volume of revenues of providers on this market increased by 2.1%, compared to the third qtr. of 2021, up to over 780 million lei.

Today, December 02, the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) published on its official website www.anrceti.md , for public consultation, the draft Administrative Board Decision on Approving the Program for Regulatory Acts Elaboration by ANRCETI for 2023 (hereinafter – the Program). The consultation will last through December 23, 2022, which is the deadline for submitting proposals on this document.

On November 28, 2022, the Deputy Director of the National Agency for Regulation in Electronic Communications (ANRCETI), Marian Pocaznoi, introduced the new Deputy Director of ANRCETI - Ms. Silvia Bojoga to the Agency’s team. Ms. Bojoga was appointed for a 4-year term of office and will also be ANRCETI Acting Director until a Director is appointed.
