ANRCETI Representatives taking part in the Annual Forum of Regional Communications Community

On November 23 – 26, representatives of the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI – www.anrceti.md), led by Ion Pochin, ANRCETI Deputy Director, is taking part in the annual Forum of the Regional Communications Community (RCC) and international conference „Mobile Communications for Social Change”, sessions taking place in Baku, Azerbaidjan Republic.

The RCC reunion has summoned delegations from CIS countries, Eastern Europe, representatives of international organizations of the sector. The Agenda of the session includes issues related to the degree of readiness of the CIS countries for building information society, implementation of digital television, satellite communications and other new telecommunications services.

As a follow up, on November 25 - 26, the participants will also take part in the international exhibition „BakuTel” and the conference „Mobile Communications for Social Change”, organized by the company TeliaSonera Euroasia. The conference will examine the ways of implementing projects of M-government, M-health, M-education and „Mobile Trade and Payment”.

The Regional Communications Community (RCC) was created on December 17, 1991 by national telecommunications administrations of the CIS countries. It is an international regional organization, exercising its functions as a CIS interstate coordination body for post and telecommunications. The RCC is an observer of the International Telecommunications Union and World Post Organization. The RCC includes 12 full members and 8 observers. The branch Ministry of the Republic of Moldova became RCC full member in December 1991.
