More Useful Information for Consumers on ANRCETI Official Website

The National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) has published on its official website www.anrceti.md, Users’ Page, additional information to raise consumer’s awareness about the services they are using and services they intend to choose. The information is placed in a new section of the Users’ Page - Theme Guides and Frequently Asked Questions complete the same page. This is one of the actions contained in the Action Plan for the Information Campaign "Know your rights as a consumer", launched in February by ANRCETI.

By means of the information placed on the Web site, the regulator is trying to answer the most common questions and problems reported by users of electronic communications services in their complaints or by phone calls to 080080080. In the first Guide, ANRCETI experts give a detailed answer to the question: How to avoid excessive bills for mobile telephone services and mobile broadband.

ANRCETI experts advise users to always control their spending in terms of minutes and data traffic included in the subscription, in particular for smart phones. As well, they alert users on the need to protect their mobile phone from unauthorized access by password, PIN code, etc. and remind them that they must immediately notify the provider in case their phone is lost or stolen, to have the service suspended.

ANRCETI experts advise users to get informed about the charges applied in case of overuse of services, analyze their bills for the last two-three months to decide whether the subscription meets their requirements. If the minimum contractual timeframe has expired, users are offered to consider switching to another plan or to another provider, if the offer is more convenient.

Also, in the FAQ section of the Users’ Page contains more answers to new questions received by ANRCETI from consumers, about the use of telephone service, Internet and television. Answers provide detailed information as to the conclusion of a written contract, verification of mobile coverage, choosing the most advantageous paid TV service, unlocking of mobile phones, etc.

ANRCETI experts recommend that users facing problems concerning the use of services or their relation with providers visit the FAQs of the Users’ Page to find answers to their questions. If no suitable answer is provided, users are invited to call ANRCETI - 080080080 (toll free, available on weekdays between 8.00-12.00 and 13.00-17.00), to submit an electronic message to ANRCETI address: http://www.anrceti.md/contact or send a petition to ANRCETI address: bd. Stefan cel Mare 134, MD-2012, mun. Chisinau.

ANRCETI plans to supplement the Users’ Page on its official website with more thematic guides to contain detailed information for consumers. In early October, ANRCETI published on its official website the first new guide (in state language) – about the conclusion and minimum content of contracts provision of publicly available electronic communications services.
