6.10.2021VALUE OF ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATIONS MARKET INCREASED IN THE SECOND QUARTER 2021 In the second quarter of 2021, the total volume of revenues on the market for public electronic communications services (mobile and fixed voice, mobile and fixed broadband, transmission and retransmission of audiovisual programs, other electronic communications activities) increased, compared to similar period last year, by 46.2 million lei (+ 3.2%) to a total of about 1.5 billion lei, shows the Report on the evolution of the electronic communications market in the second quarter of 2021, published on the website of the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) www.anrceti.md. 29.09.2021INCREASING DEMAND FOR IPTV SERVICES IN SECOND QTR. 2021 In the second qtr. of 2021, the number of users of pay TV (IP) services provided by means of IP networks increased over the end of 2020, by more than 9.2 thousand (+ 4.4%) to the total of 219.9 thousand , whereas the number of users connected by coaxial cable went down by 5.3 thousand (-3.5%) to the total of 144.9 thousand, as shown by the statistical data on the evolution of the pay TV market, aggregated by the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology. At the same time, the total number of pay TV subscribers increased by 3.9 thousand (+ 1.1%) to about 365 thousand. Details |
28.09.2021FIXED BROADBAND USERS INCREASINGLY PREFER FIBER CONNECTIONS Statistical data on the evolution of the fixed broadband market, aggregated by the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) show that, in the second quarter of this year, subscribers increasingly prefer fixed broadband connections by fiber (FTTx), their number going up, compared to the end of 2020, by 44.4 thousand (+ 8.5%), estimated at 564.2 thousand total. At the same time, the total number of fixed broadband subscribers increased over this timeframe 20.7 thousand (+ 2.9%) and reached 739.7 thousand. Details |
20.09.2021OVER 70% OF MOBILE BROADBAND CONNECTIONS USE 4G TECHNOLOGY According to the statistical data on the evolution of the mobile broadband market in the second qtr. 2021, processed by the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI), the total number of mobile broadband users by 4G technology increased, compared to the end of 2020, by about 181.8 thousand (+ 11%) and reached over 1.8 million, with a share of over 70% of the total users of mobile broadband services. 14.09.2021NUMBER OF FIXED VOICE CONNECTIONS DECREASING IN SECOND QTR 2021 In the second qtr. of 2021 the total number of connections to fixed voice services decreased, compared to the end of 2020, by about 19.2 thousand and was estimated at 1.01 million, according to the statistical data on the evolution of the fixed voice services market, aggregated by the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology. At the same time, the total volume of revenues on this market decreased, compared to the same period last year, by 12.5% and reached 85.9 million lei, and the volume of total voice traffic generated by fixed voice users decreased by 20.3%, to about 247 million minutes.
