SUBSCRIBER BASE OF MOBILE SERVICE OPERATORS INCREASED IN 2021

Statistical data submitted to the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) by mobile communications providers show that in 2021, the total number of users of mobile voice services increased, compared to 2020, by about 598 thousand (14.6%) and reached 4.7 million. The subscriber base of Orange Moldova increased by 6.6% and amounted to over 2.4 million, the number of Moldcell users increased by 22.6% and amounted to over 1.6 million, and the number of Moldtelecom-Unite users increased by 30.4% and totaled 599.4 thousand. The penetration rate of these services increased by 20.6 percentage points and reached 150.2%.

The National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) informs the providers of publicly available electronic communications services (Internet access services) about the approval, by ANRCETI Administrative Board, of Decision no. 3 of February 25, 2022 for enforcement of Order of the Commission for Exceptional Situations of the Republic of Moldova no. 1 of February 24, 2022.

TARIFFS FOR ROAMING AND INTERNATIONAL CALLS BETWEEN REPUBLIC OF MOLDOVA AND ROMANIA GOING TO DECREASE

On February 11, 2022, during the joint meeting of the Governments of Romania and the Republic of Moldova, the Agreement on reducing the tariffs for the provision of international roaming services and those of international calls between the two counties was signed. The agreement was concluded for an initial period of 5 years. The National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology of the Republic of Moldova (ANRCETI) and the National Authority for Management and Regulation in Communications (ANCOM) provided technical assistance in the negotiation and drafting of this agreement for the benefit of users of electronic communications in the two counties.

The National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) placed three draft decisions on the website www.anrceti.md for public consultation:
1) draft decision on modification of ANRCETI Administrative Board Decision no. 8/2013 on approval of the Technical and Commercial Conditions for Number Portability Implementation;
2) draft decision on modification of ANRCETI Administrative Board Decision no. 54/2017 on the general authorization and licensing regime in electronic communications;
